Orchestration of ambience explores the tectonic relationship between craft, experience, and architecture. This is considered through a mixed-use performance venue, which explores the design of ambience and how people can interact with architecture. How can you facilitate multiple experiences into a single building? How can materiality and tectonics effect senses and heighten experience?

Through initial conceptual investigations of interlocking systems, a series of volumes and layers emerged allowing for the permeation of atmospheric potentials. These layers create a series of sectional relationships to organise and plan the building internally and in relation to the surrounding site of Albert Park Lake.

The characters of each of the spaces are derived by different methods including tectonics, form and materiality. The building fabric pushes and pulls to provide a series of compressed and expanded spaces to highlight and contrast the choreography of ambience.
