As our city intensifies, the activation of public space within the urban fabric becomes essential. The post Post Office celebrates everyday activities while creating opportunities for public engagement. As consumers embrace online shopping, the quasi public space of the retail store begins to vanish. An earlier victim of the digital era was the traditional Post Office, but the upsurge in parcel delivery has revitalised its business model. By fully embracing this paradigm shift the post Post Office not only regains viability as a public utility, it returns public interaction in the information age.

The building is situated in Prahran, along Chapel Street, adjacent to the old town hall and library. The revealing glass facade intensifies an existing laneway. An energised strip of building along the laneway's edge combines public amenities with 24 hour parcel and post office box access. Consumer behaviour and interaction is indexed and displayed overhead.
