Bachelor of Interior Architecture

The 2012 Interior Architecture graduand exhibition showcases projects that explore spaces ranging from the everyday to the extraordinary. These projects are a demonstration of the students’ passion for design and the many ways of how one can rethink spatial experiences of our private, public and social environments. During their final semester, the students undertook a self-directed project and identified spatial issues and concerns around which they developed their own briefs consisting of site, program and user groups. The final designs, represented in various formats including drawings, models, sample materials and artefacts, are accompanied by a thesis booklet which contains their investigations, reflections and the design processes that they have undertaken throughout the semester.

This year’s exhibited projects range from speculative and realisable propositions for adaptive reuse and temporary inhabitation to that of artefacts and interior urban environments. They engage with a range of scales and apply a diversity of spatial design strategies to create the intended experiences.

Congratulations to all our graduands for their achievements and we wish them success and fulfilment in their careers.

A thank you also to all our tutors and guest lecturers for their energy and support throughout the year. Their invaluable industry experience is an important contribution to our Interior Architecture program.
