Through my installation work, I attempt to confront audiences directly by creating work that interrupts their space. By doing so, the viewer is forced to not only stop and interact with the work itself, but also recognise and acknowledge the space in which these works exist. The main reason I have created these installations is to explore the interaction of space and object, and how these two factors can impact one another. On the one hand, oversized strawberry demonstrates how the obscurity of an object can create an atmosphere of humour and add life to a usually mundane location, such as the fruit market. On the other hand, the work standing space finds its importance because of the space it is installed in, such as a crowded street, in which the individual is provided with a space to momentarily escape their busy surroundings, and simply stand.
