My work over the last year has been an investigation into states of perception through a documentation of movement within the various spaces I surround myself. My aim is to allow the viewer's visual field to be overwhelmed and create an awareness of their physical self within a foreign space. Through scale and the natural process of working with an unpredictable medium, abstract and often unrecognisable shapes move throughout the images to create something more reminiscent of classical painting than photography. A desire to allow film to work in its natural state creates organic and at times unsettling forms within the constraints of the view finder.
