Ginny Salmon is an aspiring artist who is passionate about hand-making and being deeply involved in the processes of creation in her work. The artist’s works often involve various fabrics and are installation or sculpture based. The motivating factor behind the materiality of the work lies in not only the aesthetic quality of textiles and hand crafted art, but also the nature of learning the skill and being involved in the laborious process. Woven Tees and Fabric Screens were both inspired by Japanese interior architecture and design, which is reflected in various materials used and in the handcrafting of the works. These works are designed to reorientate the space and evoke touch and interaction.
