CAMILLE JAMES

Camille James
Waiting Black Dog (Transparent)
2015

“What if consciousness were in fact just another cognitive mode of relating to ones envi-ronment and others? What if, by comparison with the immanent know-how of animals, conscious self-representation were blighted by narcissistic delusions of transcendence, and consequently blinded by its own aspirations of self-transparency?” – Rosi Braidotti

The Waiting Room

What are we waiting for?
The master says we have to wait.
I want to go outside!
When the door opens we can go outside.
But we were outside! Why are we in here now?
Because it is inside time.
What’s inside time for?
To get ready.
Ready for what?
To get ready to go outside.
But we were already outside! Lets just have a sniff out there!
Don’t cross the line.
Why not?
It’s a deadline.
How’d it die?
It didn't die, you’ll die.
But I crossed over last semester and I didn't die.
We know that, that’s why they’ll let us out soon.
