Department of Theory of Art & Design

Ideas and concepts are the basis of innovation in art and design. Members of the Department teach, research and engage in the development of the theories that inform art and design, across a broad range of fields and topics, including various aspects of the theory and history of Australian and international art, architecture and design, and contemporary photography and media art.

The Department provides core and elective Theory units for studio courses in Art & Design, and also offers specialised Theory programs at undergraduate, honours, MA and PhD levels.
