The beginning of a sculpture walk at Melbourne Grammar School.
Commissioned by Melbourne Grammar School, Cover Up #18 is a covering of a well-known war memorial called Cobbers by Peter Corlett, which is across the road from the school at the foot of the Shrine of Remembrance. The sculpture at Melbourne Grammar School is the Cobbers memorial reimagined as a piece of furniture for the students to occupy.
The work develops further the use of 3D technology that Professor Callum Morton and the team in MAP, in particular Andre Bonnice who worked closely on the development and design of the work, have been exploring in recent times.
The sculpture is positioned on the lawn outside the Headmaster's office at Melbourne Grammar School. The sculpture walk will unfold with further artist commissions over the coming years.
