Degree: Bachelor of Interior Architecture (Honours), 2012 Occupation: Interior Designer Employer: Gensler, Toronto (current) & Geyer, Melbourne (previous)
For me, the opportunity to influence, mould and shape the daily lives of inhabitants and communities is what makes design so appealing. As a designer, I help create experiences, memories, and influence emotion – it’s my responsibility to connect with people on an interpersonal level.
Understanding your client, the users of a space, the environmental position and the geographical location of a project is what differentiates ordinary design from good design. I believe my classes at Monash set a solid framework for successful design implementation by focussing on design research and process – they showed me the foundation of ‘good design’.
