Migratory Wonderings
2016

Campbell Drake, Sven Mehzoud, Jock Gilbert and Sophia Pearce. 107 Projects, Redfern, Sydney.

Curatorial design of an exhibition which offered an encounter of country through a series of works developed on Culpra Station in regional NSW. Australia’s regional and urban Indigenous contexts were juxtaposed through which new interpretations and formulations were created in relation to Redfern’s history and urban context. The selected works explored multivalent connections to country which were made explicit through both literal and conceptual acts of migration. The urban setting and permeable boundary of the gallery to the streetscape produced a semi-public art installation experience.

Exhibition Design for ‘Silos and Silence’
2016

With Heather Lee, Curator. Mildura Arts Centre, VIC.

Exhibition design for a Graeme Drendel Survey of over 60 art works. Aluminium clad wall elements in the centre of the two large white cube gallery spaces simultaneously reflected visitors and paintings collapsing both into a newly created alternate psychogeography of the Mallee landscape and its community.

The central exhibition for the Prague Quadrennial 2003 involved the construction of a performance and exhibition landscape in the 19th Century Exhibition Building of the Prague showgrounds. It involved 5 towers each dedicated to one of the classical senses embedded in an undulating landscape. Performances occurred during the day and evenings of the 2 week event.
