He holds a Bachelors degree from Northumbria University, Master of Design (by Research) from Monash University and is in candidature for a PhD in Industrial Design. Selby began his professional career at Philips Corporate Industrial Design in the Netherlands and a decade later became deputy head of design at the consultancy IDC in the UK. Selby’s research is committed to the development of design practice and strategy in a variety of fields, particularly in the public transport arena. Recent projects have included working with the Research and Innovation Department of the French national rail (SNCF) in Paris.
