Juliana is currently Programme Director at Aarhus 2017 and has previously held the position of Artistic Director of ACCA (Australian Centre for Contemporary Art) from 2002 – 2015, and Artistic Director of the 19th Biennale of Sydney in 2014.
She has curated critically acclaimed exhibitions in Australia and overseas, including works for the Edinburgh International Arts Festival, the Melbourne International Arts Festival and in 2007 she was Senior Curatorial Adviser for the Australia presentations at the Venice Biennale.
Juliana's honorary position with MADA recognises a shared commitment to excellence and will enable Juliana to strengthen the University's international engagement with contemporary art practice. She will provide invaluable advice to the development of MADA's innovative curatorial practice program, inspire research and mentor students.
