Obtaining and Staff Computer AccountsAuthcate is your Monash computer account to access Monsah IT services. It also provides access to restricted pages on the Monash website and other Monash resources which are protected by a password. For example:
You are allocated an initial password for your computer accounts. For the security of your accounts and stored information, this password MUST be changed within 12 hours.
Obtaining your Staff Computer Account You will be informed by Monash with your Authcate details once your account is recorded on SAP HR system. Please contact Monash HR to check your contract status. Once you get a valid staff ID number from Human Resources (HR), you will need to wait 24 hours then contact the eSolutions Service Desk on 9905 1777 for your initial password. You can also apply for Monash Computer Account locally by complete the Request for Computer Access form (pdf 68kb). Please ensure it is signed by your supervisor or Head of Department then return the form to G1.11 Desk or fax it to +61 3 9903 4021. Submit a request through the Service Desk online for access to other systems such as:
You are allocated an initial password for your computer accounts. For the security of your accounts and stored information, this password MUST be changed within 12 hours. Authcate password will expire every 6 months. You will be notified by email that your password is due to expire, and at this time you should change your password. Once you start using your account, set yourself a Personal Identification Word (PIW). Your PIW will enable you to reset your own password online if you forget it. If you have forgotten your password and did not setup your PIW, please ring eSolutions Service Desk on +61 3 9905 1777.
Extending Computer Access and Grace Period Staff whose term of employment at Monash is about to expire will have their account(s) automatically de-registered at the SAP HR contract end-date. They will be notified by an email 30 days in advance. You can apply for Grace Period which provide you extra 30 days to access Monsah IT services before the account de-registered. To apply Grace Period, please log a job to eSolutions Service Desk Online or ring eSolutions Service Desk on +61 3 9905 1777.
