Has forgetfulness become the normal condition of aging? Can the recollection of memories from augmented storytelling become a process for the creation of psychological spaces for patients of Alzheimer’s and Dementia? A Spectral Temporality investigates the conceptual application of presence through the lens of a psychological response to the question; are we living in a society waiting for dementia? This question is broached through research into augmented reality and coupled with memories from Alzheimer’s and Dementia patients (forming the Augmented Reality Case Study). This outcome is then used to inform the latter aim of the project: the design of a Dementia Awareness Machine.
