State of Matter discusses our relationship with food through the exploration of trends and services that deliver convenience i.e. supermarkets, markets and restaurants. Rather than providing education, these establishments create an environment that masks the origins of food. Existing methods of programs that build a healthier lifestyle are brought together to create an educative and informative tool. Rotating on a half-yearly basis, the truck plugs into a host community garden, where each gardening community has the ability to host the truck for the period, further, activating itself in order to gain interest to the community garden where State of Matter is stationed. The design concept provides the truck as a tool that unpacks itself, spilling out to the surrounding environment, and bringing the experience to the exterior of the truck, where users are made more aware of the processing that is put behind the food that is made on site. State of Matter travels throughout Victorian community gardens, allowing for interaction and re-connection of the communities back to the origins of food spatially.
