Post Trauma Transition
2014

“Post Trauma Transition” proposes a supported spatial journey to aid military personnel returning from war. The project offers an active set of spatial experiences to aid healing from post war trauma and to educate the public about the contemporary soldier. The project explores how storytelling can serve as a strategy for recovery.

Tess Carpenter has been awarded the “Interior Architecture Program Prize 2014 for an Outstanding Final Semester Design Research Project”

Degraves Street Audio Installation: An urban audio intervention is inserted into the CBD where a series of sound cones are suspended. Each sound cone projects the soldier’s voices that have been self- recorded in Mont Park into the public realm. These previously unheard stories of the contemporary soldier aim to educate and raise awareness about PTSD.
