This studio is about site specific spatial design interventions for Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market. The research undertaken intersects with Melbourne City Council’s intention to renew large parts of the market precinct.
The studio explores a variety of urban and scenographic strategies for their application to enhance the life of the market and to produce a more inclusive and vibrant community. After a first phase of mapping and analyzing we will create 1:1 testing situations ending in an intervention on site.
The studio aims to engage in the improvement of the draft master plan.
This studio is run by Christof Mayer from Raumlabor Berlin (2014 Interior Architecture resident artist).
