My artwork is inspired by Surrealism and Sigmund Freud’s quote: “Dreams are often most profound when they seem the most crazy.”

I deconstruct common and rare dreams that people experience. Slightly contrary to the tale the dreamer shares with their listener, I portray them with a dream-like surreal quality.

The stories that we hear of people’s experiences in their dreams only allows the opportunity to visualise them in our mind. My work provides a moment for the viewer to visually see these dreams with their eyes; the projection of the images acts as an extraction of dreams from the mind of dreamer. The installation of the bed and other small bedroom-like fixtures heighten the imitation of a bedroom.

The work is intended to encourage and invite the viewer to gain an insight into the shared experiences of dreams that people have, whether they be similar or not. Aren’t you curious?
