My practice draws upon the notion of collage and abstract painting, converging the two to create works with emphasis on shape, texture, pattern and form. The works derive from interests that lie within the realms of biology, patterns, geometry and color. The resolved compositions develop from the layering of various elements to create these large-scale collages; composed of painted fragments, photographic imagery and illustrative designs. These works are pieced together into ephemeral wall arrangements with the freedom to shift and alter, evoking a sense of mortality through their impermanence.
