How to Apply

Why choose Monash?

The Bachelor of Interior Architecture program provides its graduates with the theoretical, conceptual and technical knowledge they need to thrive within this increasingly supple, post-digital world. The program is delivered by staff with extensive industry experience, all of whom are actively engaged in research, including staff from Monash University's award winning design practice, The Spatial Research Group.

Our graduates emerge with a capacity for strong conceptual thought combined with practical skills that are highly sought after by the interior architecture and design industry. One of the catalysts for this success is the Industry Based Learning Program that students are required to undertake at the end of third year. Students work for six weeks with a professional design or architectural company, representing an exciting opportunity for them to implement their skills and knowledge into actual practice.

Interior Architecture students have the opportunity to participate in an intensive, interdisciplinary design elective unit at Monash University's Prato campus in Italy. This event takes place in June/July, between semesters, and involves a group of design students undertaking a collaborative design project, incorporating a study of the region and beyond.
