Melbourne Cinematheque Calendar
2015

This brief required me to create a branded identity for the 2016 Melbourne Cinematheque. For this, I experimented with elements of film and light projection to create my final graphic. Its customized and interesting visuals help in creating a strong identity for the iconic festival.

I was also required to produce a layout for a double-sided, printed calendar of screenings. The calendar utilizes the graphics of the identity, and also incorporates a list of running names, of all directors included in the 2016 screenings.

The calendar is A1 in size, and folds down to a standard DL brochure format.

Paper Architecture
2015

I was required to reflect the architectural work of Ben Callery in a publication format. The chosen work, entitled The Westgarth Timber Project, features multiple layers of recycled timber, with each holding its own purpose and function in keeping to the sustainability of the design. I wanted to portray this element of multiple layers and functionalities within my final solution.

My design outcome features a stenciled laser cut, that when concertina folded, represents the back façade of the house. When lying flat, the panels represent the many layers within Callery’s design, which were the key aspect to his planning.
In keeping to the brief, I used brown, recycled card, which is representative of the materials Callery used throughout his production process.

I used a plastic sleeve to contain the brochure, and utilized the space to hold project information, and display an estimated scale.

A Retrospective
2015

The aim of this publication was to explore the meanings and importance of memory, whilst highlighting the relevance and significance of long-term memory. Our memory is responsible for shaping our identity and creating communities. It is from this that we must ask: what can we learn by sharing our memories? Why do some memories stay with us, and some we forget? What is the importance of the memories that stay with us forever, and what impact do they have over our sense of identity?

This publication brings together a collection of memories from multiple sources, with the theme based around something they will never forget. As the memories began to be gathered, three clear sub-categories surfaced: stories from childhood, travel stories, and the stories that emerge through life’s adventures and happenings.
