This short film uses puppetry to indicate the social distance between adults and kids. It is about a child bamboo shoot and his bamboo adult parents who are always too busy for him. The distance between bamboo children and bamboo adults is used as a metaphor to show how parents sometimes fail to give children enough attention even though they love them.
The story tells how child neglect effect can pass across generations, but is a cycle that can be broken with the efforts and understanding of young parents. This project began with puppet-making and set design over a month, with filming and editing taking another month. I particularly enjoyed making puppet characters and assembling film sets.
I am excited about a diverse range of work. In terms of multimedia design, I have studied graphic design, website design, 3D animation, audio and digital video filmmaking. Taking on challenges and learning new ideas are my passion.
