Personal Statement:
Catherine Murphy specialises in the development of policies, strategies and programs in the areas of architecture, design and art. Her key area of expertise is the putting together projects that link a number of areas including urban planning, design and art with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. Since 2008 Catherine has worked as a Senior Research Consultant in the new Department of Architecture at Monash University, where she has worked on a range of research projects, publications and policies about architectural design and housing. Catherine has worked as a consultant to different organizations in developing business and strategy plans including the Victorian State Government and RMIT University. In these roles she developed and implemented a number of research strategies and programs.
